The Rocker Arms were designed to operate at low RPM.  For racing purposes however we de-govern the engines to enable them to rev and we also set tighter valve clearances.  This puts increased pressure on the rocker arm and can lead to failures.

As a result we recommend changing the rocker arms on engines twice a season and every race for endurance racing.  Again this is cheap insurance to ensure your engine remains in top condition.
