blank petrol pipe with a bolt in the
tubing,

remove petrol tank by undoing the 4 bolts

locate the shaft that, protrudes
vertically thro' the upper crankcase, and links via a
spring to the carb.

remove this spring and the lever that is
clamped around the vertical shaft located earlier.
This will allow the engine to rev higher than a governed
engine.

follow further steps if you want to
remove the parts from within the crankcase, which
doesn't do much other than give you confidence that
nothing is going to come loose inside.

drain oil
-
remove crankcase side casing bolts
-
carefully open joint taking care not to
damage joint

locate internal governor mechanism
(plastic gear and metal linkage) and vertical shaft.

prise the spring
clip from the end of the shaft and remove the plastic
gear and linkage. Also look out for the washer behind
the gear difficult to see and easy to leave in!!.

remove d clip from vertical shaft and
remove the shaft from inside the crankcase.
-
blank the hole with a suitable nut and
bolt or tap it out for a blanking stud or use for fuel
pump if fitting a central fuel tank system.

re build, re fill with oil to half way up
filler holes (proving the engine is vertical.
-
re connect tank to carb and start up
engine.
